LOCATION
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is located in the beautiful and historically rich Eastern Cape along 30 kilometres of privately-owned river frontage, surrounded by
20 000-hectares/50 000-acres of exclusive malaria-free wilderness. Overlooking the Great Fish River, the lodge is masterfully contoured to blend with the magnificent landscape. Kwandwe means “Place of the Blue Crane” in Xhosa, and is home to a population of these majestic endangered birds.
ACCOMMODATION
Kwandwe Main Lodge - 9 luxurious suites (en suite, indoor/outdoor showers, separate w.c., twin basins, phones and mini bar) with private viewing decks and plunge pools overlooking the Great Fish River. The décor is African-inspired, with earth-toned fabrics, indigenous timber and early settler antiques and artifacts.
Kwandwe Ecca Lodge – 6 luxurious suites (en suite, indoor/outdoor showers, separate w.c., twin basins, phones and mini bar) each with private veranda and plunge pool. Interiors reflect natural textures in hues of burnt aloe orange, rust and olive. Furnishings combine clean, contemporary sofas with venerable old collectables from the area. Uplands Homestead – this restored farmhouse features three en suite spacious bedrooms with private verandas. The interior design is based on 1820s Settler-style with modern comfortable finishes.
