WINTER WEDDING NEWS June/July 2009 As the cold weather descends on us so does a feeling of renewed enthusiasm and energy. I know that we are in an economic climate of uncertainty and even here on the Garden Route the amount of businesses that have closed down is disturbing but I am still certain that there is a turning of events and that the tides will soon be in our favour. We South Africans through our sport and through our ever determined personalites not to give up, are still able to entertain and enthuse, and it is this electricity that we have as a nation which continues to entice the rest of the curious world. We at Maiden Key Communication are excited that our clients are starting to creep out from all the corners of the globe and are visiting us from the USA, Russia, India, Germany, Romania and the UK.Clients are wanting weddings not only in South Africa, but Kenya, Zanzibar and Namibia are high on the wedding list at the moment. To date we have had just under 871,000 visitors to the English wedding site and this and our determination to provide an efficient service and offer Southern Africa as the preferred wedding and honeymoon destination seems to be attracting some attention. Sadly it is also attracting a flurry of wedding spammers intent on making money out of the industry and wasting our precious time and energy. Please all operators and venues be on the look out for money offers up front, especially when they bring this up before you have even sent out a quotation and also be wary of cashiers cheques and suspicious emails, which in many cases are sent by a third party or someone acting as a groom. In most cases a legitimate wedding request will come from the bride, in some cases it will come from the groom or another family member. If you are uncertain about an enquiry you are welcome to contact us. With regards to wedding service providers for your clients we can assist you in sourcing quotations for your clients. We utilise only reliable service providers that DO arrive on the day and DO provide quality service, from Ministers, cake makers, florists, photographers and everyone in between we have national suppliers we support to ensure your brides exceptional quality. We welcome working with tour operators and venues and invite you to contact us for assistance at any time to ensure that visitors to SA are greeted with quality weddings assured. SABIA We are now associated members of SABIA and have received two STAR of the day awards for International weddings we hosted in December 2008. We would like to thank the following people for assisting us in ensuring that these couples special days were perfect. Witwater Game Reserve, Adele Kok Photography, Flower centre Multi Flora JNB, Tanya Vogt photography, Deon the Cake Genie, Pastor Jaco Venter, Pastor Dieter Harmse, Holidays in Africa, Zebra Country Lodge. Without the exceptional service of these locations and service providers our jobs would be far more challenging. THANK YOU to everyone for your support and for the incredible reception we received from everyone we visited at this years Tourism Indaba. Please visit our English website with its ever changing face as well as our German and other websites for additional value that we can provide. This is the time to promote SA for weddings, travel and holidays and we look forward to networking with you and assisting you all in the wedding season ahead.
